Event Description

The Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition will be honoring five inspirational local women with the Sixth annual Velo Wings Award for making cycling safer and more accessible to everyone in our community.

The five awardees for 2017:

Charlotte Belyea: Teaching teens in Santa Maria the joy of learning to ride a bicycle safely so they can be confident cyclists.

Lori Lee Collins: Leading youth bike education programs that encourage young cyclists to ride safely and confidently in Carpinteria.

Tammy Saurman: Teaching teens in Santa Maria the joy of learning to ride a bicycle safely so they can be confident cyclists.

Cynthia Stahl: Creating a strong and consistent graphic image for SBBIKE and promoting the organization through design in the Quick Release, program flyers, flags, and media content.

Holly Starley: Telling the stories of SBBIKE and the local cycling community through the Quick Release, the press, and online articles that promote the organization and cycling culture across Santa Barbara County.
